About
All my life I have been passionate about stage, screen, and performance. When my daughter started dancing, I took an opportunity to combine this with my other creative passions of sewing and needlecraft. Since then, my business has grown to designing and creating custom-made costumes and tutus.
I have been making dance costumes since 2011 and in 2014 I took on the challenge of creating my first tutu. Over the years, I have completed tutu making seminars across Australia and a dance costume design course in Sydney.
My work and creativity led me to take on costume and tutu design that specialised in hand crafted, individualised dancewear and in 2019 “The Beautiful Dancer” brand was born. I take pride in the joy expressed by young, aspiring dancers when they first receive their finished costumes.
What we do
We offer a versatile range of products that include traditional classical tutus, stretch tutus, boys’ tunics, contemporary, jazz, tap and musical theatre costumes.
The Beautiful Dancer is based at Bella Vista in Sydney’s North West. We supply our products to individual performers, dance studios and other performance groups.
Design and fittings are conducted by private consultation and in a COVID-safe environment.

Why Us
At The Beautiful Dancer, we specialise in creating unique, custom-made costumes and tutus for solo performances. Each of these costumes are handmade and individually designed. Individuality is also applied to our performance and ballet troupe costumes.
Our products are made from the highest quality materials that are sourced or supplied by Australian businesses. We understand the physical stresses placed upon our products and ensure they are made to a standard that meets this requirement.
We also ensure that costume and tutu design is a consultative process and therefore your finished product is created to meet the expectation of you and your dance school. Occasionally, we do have a small number of ready-to-wear costumes available as well.
We understand that your dancewear is an extension of the expression of your dance. Our aim is to match the creativity of your dance with the creativity of your costume.
